NPSA Guidelines
The National Patient Safety Agency (NPSA) issued Safety Notice Number 24 in July 2007 together with some supporting documents.

Amba can supply a number of products to help hospitals and professionals in similar settings achieve compliance with the NPSA guidelines.
The simplest route to compliance is to use a WHITE band on which key data is entered in BLACK. Only four items of data should be entered:
- Last Name
- First Name
- Date of Birth
- NHS Number
Note—first line of address should be added in Wales.
The band can be plain or pre-printed with the relevant boxes to act as a simple form such as on the AMBA PRECISION SENTRY NPSA BAND:
The Amba Precision Sentry Band is the standard used in a large number of hospitals and this band has been modified to facilitate quick compliance with the new guidelines.
